Sienna Mynx is your naughty writer of paranormal, contemporary, and historical interracial romance. Her tales are for readers who love the bad boys but desire to be the women that tame them. A current resident of southern Georgia, Sienna Mynx has just emerged into the e-publishing scene. Her novellas reflect her thirst for romance told from a dark, sensual perspective with the diversity women of all colors crave in erotic romance. Look for more to come.

Julie: Welcome, Sienna. Why don’t you start us off by telling us how you discovered/decided you wanted to become a writer?

Sienna: Thank you for having me, Julie. It’s hard to say when I discovered I wanted to be a writer. One would think that when a person discovers their passion the day wouldbe stamped on their heart for future reference. I can share that I always knew I wanted to be a storyteller. Before I had a little sister to torture with dress-up and games of make-believe, my Barbies and stuffed animals would have to sit through my storytelling. In fact, I even wrote mini-plays for them and had them act them out. My mom still has the crayon drawn rough drafts.

If I had to share when I decided on becoming a writer thathappened around 2004. The people talking in my head forced me to tell their tales, and thank goodness for the Internet to help me scratch that itch.

Julie: What is your writing process? Do you outline, fly by the seat of your pants or a combination of both?

Sienna: It depends. At the present I have a catalogue of 110 uncompleted stories. Sounds manic, huh? It really is, I’ve written so much between 2004 and 2008, before my first book was released, that I’m still dusting off stories and revising and releasing them monthly. If I were to say I had a process it would be late night writing/revising and definitely by the seat of my pants. I can’t follow outlines, especially my own.

Julie: Give us a sneak peek into the writing life of Sienna and tell us about one strange writing ritual you have.

Sienna: I work a very demanding day job. My writing doesn’t begin until about 9pm (every night) and concludes about 2 or 3 am. I’m an insomniac. A strange ritual I have is that I must watch Animal Planet. I didn’t know it was mandatory until my city was hit by a lightening storm that knocked out my cable. I had nothing but my computer and plenty of quiet time in my home, and I couldn’t type a word. I just kept calling the cable company and yelling at them to get the Animal Planet back on. LOL! Strange I know.

Julie: If you were going to cast the hero of your book, what actor would get the part?

Sienna: Oooh! I love this question. Every book I write I cast heroes. So without giving away who was cast for who I will just tell you who my leading men have been: Clive Owen, Michael Easton, Daniel Craig, Bradley Cooper, Henry Cavil. I swear have these men on my mind morning, noon, and night! LOL!

Julie: I know you’ re not supposed to show favoritism, but who’ s been your favorite character to write?

Sienna: My favorite character to write just happens to be the one character I haven’t published yet. He’s a Sicilian Mafia Don, madly in love with an African American fashion designer. I’ve written 9 complete series stories about the love and trials of this man. He’s my hidden secret. I’m not done polishing him, but by far I believe he will be my best work when it’s complete.

Julie: Do you have a favorite TV show you can’ t miss?

Sienna: Yep, Animal Planet. In particular Big Cat Diaries. I can’t miss an episode and they usually come on at 6 in the morning. Also, for some levity, I’m heavily addicted to The Office. I swear Michael and Dwight make me laugh until I’m in tears. I watch the re-runs daily.

Julie: How likely are people you meet to end up in your next book?

Sienna: Very, very, very likely. I take from everything I see, hear, eat. The people I meet, even casually, always leave a mark on me. But I change the names, of course!

Julie: If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?

Sienna: It would be the blue-collar hunky flower-guy Melvin Reed from Funny Valentine. He’s a one woman man, and he just consumes the woman he loves. I like his humor, his temper, his humility, his strength and even his silent presence. If there were any man I could see myself with, Melvin would be it!

Julie: What question do you wish people would ask you in interviews?

Sienna: I wish more interviewers would ask authors about eBook piracy. I think it would really help shed more light on this issue for readers, who for some reason don’t understand the impact they have on their favorite authors. I get the need to file swap, and share stories, but it’s so hard for me to fathom that you don’t want to support a medium that brings you such great entertainment and joy. Speaking from an author’s point of view, to have a story listed free on a site and no recourse to get it pulled, makes me want to pack up all my marbles and leave the playground. I mean, some of these pirates wouldn’t dare walk into a Barnes and Noble and stick a book in their purse and leave, but downloading and hoarding eBooks is okay? I just don’t get it.

Julie: Could you tell us about any work-in-progress, current projects, what we can expect from you in the future?

Sienna: Oh, definitely. I have three books to release this month. Daisy’s Choice is the anticipated sequel to Aiden’s Game, which had once made the Top Ten Reader’s list at AllRomanceEbooks.com. Daisy’s story is more ‘women’s fiction’ than ‘romance,’ but Ithink the readers will love it. It will be released on the 25th. I have an Egyptian love storywith a Queen, rarely featured during that time period in romance. And I’m excited about a free read that is a historical romance; both hopefully will release on the 15th of thismonth.

Julie: Well, thank you, Sienna, for stopping by and answering my questions.
