Terri Talley Venters received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Florida. She is a licensed CPA and a Second Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. She lives in St. Augustine, Florida, with her husband, Garrison, and their two sons. Terri is the daughter of Leslie S. Talley, author of Make Old Bones which is also available from Wild Child Publishing.

On the first of each month, Terri also posts free short stories on her blog. Follow her at http://www.territalleyventers.blogspot.com/as she weaves her way through the Periodic Table of Elements.

Julie: Welcome, Terri. To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

Terri: Carbon Copy, available now from Wild Child Publishing, is the 1st thrilling novel in the Elements of Mystery Series. The title of each novel will contain an element from the Periodic Table of Elements. I have 3 books coming out soon: Tin Roof, the sequel to Carbon Copy, is coming soon from Wild Child Publishing. Body of Gold, is a romantic/suspense coming soon from Freya’s Bower. And Copper Cauldron, coming soon from Wild Child, is more novella featuring St. Michael the Archangel and family of good witches. I am currently writing Silver Lining, the final book in the Carbon Copy Trilogy.

Julie: Why did you start writing?

Terri: My mother, Leslie Talley, is a writer. In fact, her debut novel, Make Old Bones, is now available from Wild Child Publishing. When I read her book, I thought, I could do this! But I had no idea what to write about. For years, people would tell me they knew someone who looked exactly like me. I’d respond, “I must’ve been cloned!” Then story ideas poured into my head, and Carbon Copy was born.

Julie: Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Teri: Chocolate and Red Wine, not necessarily in that order.

Julie: Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.

Terri: I’ve been to Disney over 400 times.

Julie: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Terri: Disney.

Julie: If someone hasn’t read any of your work, what book would you recommend that they start with and why?

Terri: Carbon Copy, because it’s the only one available. Tin Roof, the sequel is coming soon. Body of Gold and Copper Cauldron are unrelated stories. But I plan on making Copper Cauldron a series.

Julie: If you could date any character from any book, who would it be?

Terri: Rhett Butler from my favorite book and movie, Gone With The Wind.

Julie: What’s on your Bucket List?

Terri: Visit all of the Disney theme parks around the world. (I’ve been to Orlando, FL; Anaheim, CA; & Paris, France)

Climb the steps up an ancient Mayan/Incan/Aztec pyramid.

Take my parents and sons to the Kentucky Derby. (We have tickets for 5/4/13.)
