Antonia Maxwell had been content to run wild and stay firmly on the shelf away from the demands of the masses. Deciding to find out on her own what passions men expected of her she disguises herself as a man and follows her cousin to a very “discreet”establishment and finds more than she expected in the tutoring offer from the only man she has ever desired. “Anthony”is an apt pupil as Gideon opens her eyes to not only the ways of the men circling her and her wealth but the tastes and desires of a man who can give her everything she ever desired.
Gideon Harcourt did not believe the young man sitting watching the decadent displays of flesh and sex in Madame Desiree’s establishment was as he appeared and the tells were very evident for a man of his particular tastes. He would educate the woman to the pleasures of the flesh in more ways than one but when he is finished it might be he himself who would learn a lesson in love and not just in finding pleasure.
These lovers do not take your typical path to finding happiness. Both pushed by society and family to wed and breed, their strong desire to find love despite those pressures lead them on a very erotic adventure where Antonia’s eyes are opened to the very different and diverse appetites of the man she has fallen in love with and in doing so she finds her own desires fulfilled along the way. I really enjoyed this erotic tryst and the journey Antonia and Gideon take to finding their soul mate. The path that the lovers take is not the typical route for romance books with various other players in their lives and in their beds along the way but for Antonia and Gideon the path leads them to what they desire and what they need from each other.
