Army Beast Resurrection: Stavros Returns by Dahlia Rose is a surprising and entertaining addition to the Army Beast series.  I’ve read several and what I enjoy about every one is that the men are passionate about their careers and even more so about the women in their lives.  They are badass guys with a deep capacity for caring.  This is a totally sexy quality and Stavros has it in spades.  In Embrace the Beast, Stavros apparently died saving his friends.  It is exciting to learn that by sheer luck, he survived.  Stavros’s determination to live is inspiring, but his keeping this information from his family is wrong.  The heroine, Amari, is a strong character and reminds me much of the other women who manage to become partners to the men of the Army Beast team.  She is beautiful, capable and mature enough to see beyond what Stavros says.  It is always great to catch up on other team members whose stories have already been told.  Overall, this is a short, entertaining novel and just the expectedness of the story makes this a keeper for me.

Stavros, member of an elite Army Beasts Tactical Squad, is injured and nearly killed during a mission with his teammates.  He narrowly cheats death and has the scars to prove it.  Stavros believes he is no good to his teammates with an injured leg that won’t heal.  Feeling inadequate and unable to live with their pity, he chooses to live in exile, allowing his friends to believe he is dead.  A whole year has gone by and the only person Stavros allows near him is nurse practitioner Amari Montgomery, who is instrumental in helping Stavros with his recovery.  Amari is goodness personified.  Stravros would pursue her, but what would a beautiful woman like Amari want with a broken and scarred man like him?  Amari makes the first move and though reluctant at first, Stavros is happy his feelings for Amari are mutual.  Then Amari is kidnapped and Stavros is forced to seek help from his Army Beast family.  Everyone is hurt by his choice to keep them in the dark.  But no matter what, he’s family and that trumps all other feelings.  Rescuing Amari helps rebuild his relationship the Army Beasts and the team is complete again.
