Valentina Baranova loves her father, but the Russian actress cannot go through with his plans to marry her off to Lord Pemberton. Her father hopes for riches and the czar’s favor by trading her body for stolen British documents, but she would rather run, leaving him and her hopes of ever seeing her family again behind.
Alec Jameson, Lord Carrington, had only one thing driving him. The spy for the crown needed to unmask the traitor who was responsible for his brother’s death. The pretty actress was involved with the vile Pemberton and she would be his bait to flush out the man and expose his crimes once and for all.
Capturing the lovely lady is much easier than Alec ever imagined when she sneaks out of her “fiance’s” home and right into his awaiting arms. The beauty gave him the way to get back at the man who let his fellow countrymen die to line his own pockets. He would seduce her and take what was meant to belong to Pemberton. The only problem with his plan is, the carnal reaction he has to her fires his blood and releasing his willing captive will tear his well-planned method of revenge to shreds.
A quick, sexy, saucy and erotic treat for a lazy summer afternoon. I really enjoyed this book as well as the first book in the series, Claimed by the Captain. The interaction between the two lovers was very amusing at times and their passion drove the story as they worked together to bring their hated adversary down before it was too late. Take the time to snag this one for your ereader and enjoy.
