Reading Everything You Need by Melissa Blue was like receiving flowers when I least expected them. The novel features interracial couple Hazel Garvey and Brice Creed who are both going through a rough patch before they ever meet. Hazel is an interior decorator experiencing burnout. She needs a vacation and fresh ideas to revamp her waning career. Brice’s father expects him to join the family’s renovation company but he wants to strike out on is own. His first renovation has to be a success or he’ll never be able to prove to his family he can do this on his own. Hazel and Brice hold the solution to each other’s problems but their first encounter is not exactly love at first sight. However, they soon warm up to each other. Hazel is a strong character who openly expresses how she feels while Brice is a bit more reserved. They make a believable couple though when they interact. There are very unusual occurrences at the cottage where Hazel is staying including a woman who seems to sense her every need. This explains the title and adds a humorous layer to an overall enjoyable story.
Interior designer, Hazel Garvey is going through a rough patch in her career. A mandated vacation should rejuvenate her creativity but Hazel sees it as the nail in the coffin of her professional career. The beach house where she is vacationing lacks charms but provides what she needs to clear her head and wait for her creative juices to start flowing again. On a run down the beach she meets renovator Brice Creed and his gruff manner at first turns her off until she realizes it is merely a disguise for a very sensitive, caring man. Brice knows of Hazel’s background and wants to solicit her help in decorating the house he is renovating. However, as they grow more attracted to each other, he’s afraid Hazel will believe his feelings are not genuine but fueled by his need for her professional talent. When they do become lovers it is an experience that Hazel can hardly walk away from, however she knows Brice is not interested in a lengthy relationship, but wants her help with his house.
