Miss Lucy Lawson had been firmly on the shelf for seven years. The twenty-four year old Miss had plans that would finally get her out of the melee of the ton and away from those who looked down upon the self-described plain woman. A property left to her by a grandparent was perfect for hiding away and living out her life, and with the monies earned writing as Lady Libertine piling up it would put her in place sooner rather than later. Her mother only saw the need to dote on her youngest belle, so Lucy would not be missed. Flirting with the Duke had been fun and he had given her her first and only taste at passion.
Hamersley, a Duke, had been caught in more than a couple of situations with another man’s fiancé but getting it plastered in the paper was more than he could bear. He had to find out who was behind this and following the young witty woman who most likely knew who he was after to the country was his best bet. He never expected her to claim something he never thought to give.
Kate Harper’s Lady Libertine was fun, smart and sexy. A delectable treat that made me giggle with amusement, fan myself from the heat and grab a tissue to deal with the tears from both the emotion and the humor. I loved Lucy. She was the perfect hero… I mean heroine and Hamersley was sexy, dark and dangerous as he hunted down the person who had caused his life to turn into a chaotic mess.
