Lady Nicola Fitzgibbons had no idea why her correspondence with her best friend over the years had been halted. Back in London she was more than determined to bring Thomas back into her life. Blowing into his office she was halted by the difference in the man and his determination to keep her away from him, something he was going to have to concede defeat to as she was staying in his life for good this time.
Thomas Cartwright was a barrister. A newly appointed one at that and because of that there was no way he could continue his friendship with his childhood friend Nicola. Or as the papers had dubbed her the Queen of Scandal. Unfortunately there was no way he could keep himself away from her when she forced herself back into his life and made him kiss the beauty and let her know that despite his feelings his station in life was not worthy of her.
This was a delight to read from the start. The correspondence between the two totally swept me away as their carefree and youthful friendship wove its way across the years and the many different lands Nicola traveled to. The connection was immediate. The path towards opening their eyes and hearts to the truth about their feelings was done in a smart and scrumptious way that kept me clicking through the pages until the very end. An absolutely fabulous novella from their first letter until their last.
