Slightly Sinful by Yvette Hines

Slightly Sinful by Yvette Hines is a contemporary, interracial romance featuring an interior designer who, unbeknownst to her, is about to have a salacious evening with her new client. The story is relatively short and very entertaining from beginning to end. This novel is not for the prudish reader and sexual expression and freedom is quite liberal in the story. I did find the handling quite tasteful and enjoyable to read. Delilah is a very likeable character with an approachable personality. Although she is a businesswoman and quite savvy in her profession, there is an air of vulnerability about her that Nicholas picks up on. I like that he seems to complement her perfectly. She is not afraid to try something new, but he realizes right away that this is not the everyday norm for her either. The plot is fun and informal and the story reads very quickly. Noteworthy supporting characters include Darren, Delilah’s partner who keeps her honest, and Les, Nicholas’s second in command who forces him to face the truth. I thought both these characters helped in building the story and developing the personality of the main characters. There are eyebrow-raising moments, and funny moments in an overall very enjoyable novel.

Reclusive bachelor and entrepreneur Nicholas Torres first saw Delilah four years ago and he’s followed the progress of her design firm for years, biding his time, waiting for the right moment to meet her. Nicholas is presented the perfect opportunity to spend uninhibited time with Delilah after learning she has accepted an invitation to spend a night of sexual liberation on a secluded resort. The second Nicholas enters the room Delilah is drawn to him. They eventually spend an unforgettable night together, but, believing Nicholas only wants a night of pleasure, Delilah hastily leaves at sunrise. She is outraged to later learn that Nicholas Torres has contracted her firm to redesign his corporate offices. Did she win the contract because of her indiscretion with the man who has already fulfilled her every sexual fantasy?
