The latest novel in the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter is another fantastic read, full of sensual tension, humor, excitement, suspense and more than a bit of sexually arousing bed play, or rather non-bed play. Gena never fails to win me over with her Lords, keepers of demons, and their quest to find Pandora’s Box, return the demons to the prison it is and ultimately rid themselves of them for good.
Olivia knew what she asked for when she went to the heavenly High Counsel and asked to be relieved of her duty as a Warrior Angel. Living most of her existence as a joy-bringer, Olivia was not ready when her first duty as a Warrior Angel was to kill the keeper of the demon Wrath, Lord Aeron. She knew his sin of bringing the demon Legion from hell was not meant to be a threat to humanity, but his breaking of the rules signed his death warrant with the Elite Seven. The man she watched was nothing like the Angels of her realm; he was strong, tattooed and held within him the demon Wrath and as such had killed many along the way. Why did she want to give everything up for one chance with a man who knew nothing of her existence and might cast her aside despite her sacrifice?
Aeron, possessed by the demon Wrath, owes his sanity to Paris, keeper of promiscuity, who sacrificed his mate for him. Flying Paris into the town every night so he could take care of the necessities that his demon demanded of him, Aeron finds himself making a wish that he could find one woman to be a part of his life like some of the other warriors of late. Be careful what you wish for when the Gods themselves are watching. When a beautiful woman reveals herself to him he can’t believe that she would want anything to do with him. When she reveals she is an angel, or rather a fallen angel, he must make the right decision as to what would be the best for them all.
I loved this book. The excitement Gena delivered throughout carried through to a sensational and OMG ending for this couple. I can’t wait to find out what happens to these characters as they continue the fight with the Hunters. With the addition of a few new players into the game it will continue to be a Must Be Bought series for me. I highly recommend this book as a fantastic read for anyone with a taste for sexy warrior men who love, laugh and sacrifice over and over for the women and friends in their lives.
