Xavier’s Loving Arms by KT Grant

Xavier’s Loving Arms by KT Grant is a great contemporary interracial romance with a well written story and very likeable characters.  Noteworthy are the many relevant issues the story features such as bulimia and its long term effects and the crippling effects of debt.  I’m sure many readers can relate to Rebecca’s character because of not just her medical but her financial issues as well.  Through all her problems Rebecca remains optimistic and refuses to compromise her beliefs.  She won’t take a hand-out or return to an abusive relationship for financial security.  When the stresses of her predicament become overwhelming Rebecca works hard to stave off the desire to return to her bulimic habits.  Xavier becomes the perfect partner for Rebecca.  Despite Rebecca’s fragile exterior he doesn’t make her feel self-conscious.  Instead, he recognizes and encourages her inner strength.  Unlike her ex-boyfriend, Xavier does not try to be her crutch.  Instead he quietly gives Rebecca the tools she needs to overcome both her adversities; his unwavering love and a no-strings attached solution to her financial problems.  This novel moves really fast and with an engaging plot and subplots, readers are sure to enjoyXavier’s Loving Arms. 

Rebecca Price’s life is filled with adversity. She lost her mother in infancy, her father dies of a heart attack and her sole remaining relative has dementia and is unable to recognize her.  On top of that Rebecca is about to lose her home.  Her ex-boyfriend wants to help if she agrees to marry him, but getting back with him would be like selling her soul to the devil.  Her involvement with him years ago lead to a nearly fatal eating disorder that still plagues her years later.  Xavier Marks is new in town and while he’s not actively looking for love he finds it in the most common of places with a very unusual woman.  There is an ethereal quality about Rebecca that makes Xavier want to be her defender and lover.  If only he can get Rebecca to lower her guard and give him a chance.  Rebecca has a hard time allowing men to get close but there’s something about being with Xavier that makes him different.  However, her ex is determined to get her back.
