Today we were treated to announcements by not one, but two digital reader companies preparing to launch new product. Amazon, of course, made headlines earlier today with the unveiling of new Kindles to go on sale this month:
- Two new 8.9″ Kindle Fire tablets, designed to rival the iPad – one WiFi and one 4G
- The 7″ Kindle Fire HD, with 16GB of storage
- Kindle Paperwhite and Paperwhite 3G, digital readers with brighter screens and built-in front light.
Amazon has also updated the standard Kindle to improve page turns. Read more about the Kindles.
Not to be outdone, Kobo also revealed their new line of readers. While three are updated versions to established devices, Kobo will also offer Arc, a 7″ tablet that runs on Android technology.
Looking around our Twitter feed, we saw many oohing and ahhing over the new Amazon offerings. What do you think of the new lineup of readers? Do you plan to upgrade?
