Writers are often asked where their ideas come from so we asked the writers at Changeling Press to share the inspiration behind their stories.
Zenobia Renquist: Wet: Undercurrent - One of the things I love about Changeling Press is their open attitude toward the new and the weird. I kept that in mind when I decided to do a story for the Wet multi-author series — one of the main characters has to be a water-based preternatural creature. Mermaids, silkies — it’d been done before. Then the ...more
Rescue Me by Shara Azod is a contemporary, interracial romance featuring a German born businessman and a black woman born and raised to become an exotic trophy to some wealthy European man. The story goes right into the meat of things and there is no lag from page one onwards. It is amazing to imagine that human trafficking is not made up for the entertainment value of this story, but unfortunately this practice is very real. Dieter has to sully his hand to save Deja, but ...more
I love everything about a Shara Azod novel, and Welcome Back, Kimber is another page-turner. The novel is not very long and reads fast with one startling revelation after the other from a beginning that immediately grabs your attention. The level of deceit is so intricate that it makes for a compelling and believable plot. Holden and Kimber are great characters I wouldn’t mind reading more about them. The connection between Holden and Kimber is still there, even years later and ...more

One Good Man by Shara Azod is a contemporary, interracial romance that’s a quick read with true to life characters and a witty plot. Shara Azod delivers time and again with her realistic characters and ingenious plots. Although this novel is a very quick read it delivers a well thought out plot and some very likeable characters. One Good Man is another tale of life and love in the military and with the element of danger also comes the element of ...more
Thierry’s Angel by Shara Azod is another installment of the Chevalier cousins and this time it is no nonsense Thierry Chevalier who finds himself out of place as he struggles to convince Angelique Dubois they belong together. A Chevalier novel by Shara Azod is a guaranteed success and Thierry’s Angel is no less. There is a great plot with very realistic characters that bring the story to life. There are humorous moments, somber moments, and sizzling hot moments and overall this is ...more

Anchor’s Away has a well conceived plot with a wicked twist at the end. I love Bobbi’s character in that she is a strong black woman but it doesn’t rob her of her femininity. She knows just when to surrender to her man and boy is she not disappointed. The love scenes between Bobbi and Gray are explosive, very graphic and hotter than hell. The novel is definitely not for the whimsical romantic or the feint of heart. If you are adventurous about love and want a book that ...more
Shara Azod novels are always filled with many layers, each interesting and attention grabbing and Georgie’s Beau is no less. The unfolding of Georgie and Beau’s love is sweet and poignant. It is enjoyable to experience their growth from the young stage of love to its more mature and sustaining kind. Both face adversity that ages them and tests their commitment to love each other. Beau’s passion with Georgie is raw and primal and their lovemaking reflects that. They ...more
