If Wishes Were Shadows by A. Sangrey Black (nice use of blood in a pen name!) combines the recently popular BDSM craze with an age old question posed by immortals everywhere – is my human lover ready for life eternal?

Cambria is trolling bars and BDSM clubs trying to find someone important to her. Along the way she’s killing vampires because everyone knows the only good vampire is a dead one. That all changes when she challenges a born vampire called ‘The King’ who is much stronger than she is. In fact, she’d be dead if it wasn’t for another vampire with a ridiculous name. Then strange vampires start following her and even interfering in her kills (by killing them first). Turns out she’s the ...more

Fans of classic Gothic literature as well as the more contemporary versions will enjoy this fourth story in the ongoing Montmoor series. Greer effectively captures the brooding atmosphere for this tale, which strikes the reader as a Jane Eyre/ Wuthering Heights mash-up. Though not having read the earlier stories in the series, this reviewer had no trouble following the storyline, and looks forward to the next chapter.
The story begins with Catherine, governess to the nephew of Lord Montmoor, in the midst (literally) of being drowned ...more

She had agreed to participate in the historical re-enactment at the Alamo only because of Rachel, even though the historically accurate costume was uncomfortable and cumbersome. Taking her place near the entrance, she waited for the director to call action so she could begin her part. Realizing the flashes and gunfire noise was much too realistic, Jo was startled to find herself in a room with two Mexican soldiers who seemed to ...more
Carlos Rivera’s lion side told him that the mysterious woman he initially dubbed as the Ice Queen was anything but. Even as a background search came up empty, she was a mystery he wanted to solve. She was his mate and although he was sure he would bring the wolf Declan into their bed, at least eventually, he knew by pack law he had to bring another but he didn’t want to share. He wanted to be first and last with his little hunter.
