Instant gratification is a wonderful thing. Digimonkey is a big fan of instant gratification, which is one of the things she loves about ebooks. If Digi’s surfing the Web and spots an author’s announcement regarding a new release, she can immediately login to her All Romance account and purchase the book, which makes her a very happy monkey, indeed!
However, because Digimonkey spends a lot of her work…er…free time touring author blogs and websites, she often hears about a great new book weeks or even months before its release date. Digimonkey knows she wants to have that book in her hot little paws as soon as it becomes available, but amidst transporting the little monkeys to soccer and piano, spending time with her main squeeze, Paco, and working (yes, working) at All Romance, Digimonkey sometimes forgets to order the book when it becomes available.
That’s why Digimonkey has learned how to use the All Romance/OmniLit Pre-Order button. As soon as she hears about that fabulous new book, she logs into her All Romance account and finds the book’s listing. After drooling over the cover (she has her priorities), Digimonkey takes a look at the purchase buttons. Normally, Digi would see three buttons that say “Add to Cart”, “Buy Now” and “Add to Wish List”.
However, because this is a Pre-Order title, the Add to Cart button has been replaced with one that says “Pre-Order”.
If Digi clicks on the Pre-Order button, she’ll be taken to her Cart. If she clicks the Buy Now button, that doesn’t mean she can get the book faster! The book still won’t be available for download until the release date. What it does mean is that the transaction will be completed using Digimonkey’s Buy Now account information so she won’t have to enter her credit card details during checkout. For more information on the Buy Now option, check out Digi’s post on the topic.
Digi’s ready to Pre-Order her book so she clicks on the Pre-Order button and completes the purchase like normal. When Digimonkey goes to her ARe Library, the book is waiting for her in the Purchased Books section, but without the download links.
Digimonkey isn’t worried, though! She knows that the links will appear next to the book title as soon as the official release date arrives. On that happy day, Digimonkey can download her purchase and read to her heart’s content. Oh so gratifying!
