The powers that be recently informed Digimonkey that an enhancement had been made to the PayPal checkout procedure at All Romance and OmniLit, which made Digi’s paws tingle with the urge to check it out. She packed a lunch, did a few stretches, took a deep breath and then discovered it was…utterly and completely easy!! Here’s what you need to know.
First, there’s a shiny new button that can be found on each book’s main page, just below the Add to Cart and Buy Now buttons. The only books that will not display the Pay with Paypal button are those that are priced at $0.00 (for obvious reasons).
When you click on the Pay with PayPal button, a new window will open that asks you to login to your Paypal account. Enter the email address and password associated with your Paypal account and then click “Login”. If you do not have a Paypal account, you can also click the “Sign Up” link to create an account.
For those who like express checkout and are using their personal device (not a shared computer), you also have the option of checking the box that says, “For faster checkout, skip login for future purchases using this computer.” This allows Paypal to save your information so that you do not have to login to your Paypal account each time you want to check out using Paypal.
After you login, the next window that appears is the confirmation page. It lists the books included in the order, the price for each book, the total price, and the payment type that Paypal will be charging for the purchase. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE ORDER BEFORE THE PAYMENT IS CHARGED! Take a moment to:
- Check that the prices listed match what you expected to pay
- Verify that no duplicate or unwanted books are in the order
- Make sure all books you meant to purchase are listed
After you have checked the order confirmation, click on the yellow “Pay Now” button to complete the order. If there are any errors in the order, click the “Cancel” link to the right of the yellow Pay Now button instead. A pop up will appear confirming that the payment has been cancelled.
You can then return to your Cart on the All Romance/OmniLit site and make changes to the order. When you’re ready to complete the purchase again, click on the “Pay with Paypal” button in the Cart to go back to the Paypal login window.
After you have logged into your Paypal account, confirmed the order and clicked the “Pay Now” button on the confirmation page, you will see a pop up that confirms payment was received.
Hurray! You will then be directed to your Library to begin downloading your shiny new books.
Special Instructions for “Pay with Paypal” purchases
If you do not have an All Romance/OmniLit account, you can click on the Pay with Paypal button for books that are not in Secure formats and make the purchase anyway. You will be prompted to create an account when the purchase is complete so that you can access your Library and download your books. You must create the account within 30 minutes of placing the order for the system to assign the purchase to your new Library. To purchase Secure format books, you must create an account first and login to All Romance/OmniLit before using the Pay with Paypal button.
If you have an account, are purchasing non-secure formats, but have not logged in, you can click on the Pay with Paypal button and make the purchase anyway. However, the first time you use the new Paypal system, you will need to login to your ARe account within 30 minutes of completing the purchase for the order to be assigned to your Library. The system will then assign your Paypal ID to your All Romance account which allows the system to log you into your ARe account automatically for all future non-secure purchases made using the same Paypal ID.
If you have an account, are purchasing Secure formats, but have not logged in, you will always be asked to login to your All Romance/OmniLit account before going to the Paypal window, regardless of whether this is your first or fiftieth purchase using the Paypal system.
Digi thinks the new system is elegant and efficient…two of Digi’s favorite words. Let Digi know if you agree with her!
