Whether you love or hate Fifty Shades of Grey, we may all agree that Ellen Degeneres’s dramatic reading is quite enjoyable…and hilarious. You may lose your craving for pancakes, be warned.

If you’re not in Chicago right now, where this year’s Romantic Times convention is in full swing, you can follow the action (as many of us are doing right now, sob) via Twitter. Keep a search on #RT12 in your Twitter client open and watch the various rundowns. Already we’ve read some interesting recaps of talks by Mark Coker of Smashwords and author JA Konrath, and seen some yummy cover model pics at the various parties.

Calling all authors! Other than writing your books, what’s the most important task you do? Survey says…communicate with readers! After all, without anyone to read your books, they’d just sit there, sad, lonely, unloved and unread. That’s no life for a book! So, chances are you’ve made use of the Internet to promote your books to readers using a website, blog, Facebook or Twitter, right? And you want to make it easy for the readers who find you on the Internet to purchase your books, ...more

Are you there, Kindle? It’s us, a generation of readers who grew up reading Judy Blume. We’re excited to learn that thirteen books in Blume’s classic backlist are coming to eBook format through Random House. Stories like Blubber and Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret remain fresh and relevant years later, and hopefully eBook release will introduce them to a new generation of readers.
Blume isn’t the only author of note to receive a digital makeover. The works of the late John Updike ...more
With Leap Day coming soon, we have one more day to enjoy a good book in February. Make it a good one! If you’re feeling nostalgic for your first years of reading, you might want to revisit the Berenstain Bears in memory of co-creator Jan Berenstain, who passed away recently at 88. Between the Berenstain Bears, Richard Scarry, and Dr. Suess, I was never far from a book as a child.

Pirates! Grrr! Argh! The term “pirate” conjures a great many images in our modern society. Some are romantic, such as Digimonkey’s personal favorite, Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. You gotta love a man who can melt you with a look. Yowza!
However, other pirates are far less romantic, and today Digi wants to talk to you about book pirates. What is a book pirate? A book pirate is someone who makes an unauthorized copy of a book, either digital or print, and then distributes that ...more
Digimonkey loves helping authors showcase their wonderful books on the site, and every book listing is an opportunity for the author to sparkle. A great book listing generates interest, which can lead to increased sales, happy customers, and a successful author. Everybody wins!

Digimonkey loooooves authors. Seriously. It’s an addiction. Or maybe an obsession. No wait, that makes Digi sound like a stalker. And she’s not. Really. Forget she mentioned the word stalker. Pretend she said something cute instead like….kittens! Yes, much better. Moving on.
The point that Digimonkey WANTS to make is that she loves helping authors connect with the readers who visit All Romance/OmniLit. What could be better than bringing great authors together with avid readers? And one of the very best ways to do that is ...more
